I traveled domestically about two weeks ago. Thankfully I had no problem whatsover. TSA was very nice when I handed them my unstamped passport from my country. In fact they didn't even check for a stamp. They just opened it to the first page, lighted it with a flashlight and said "have a nice flight" and then i got through security and that was it. the process was pretty much the same on my way back... print boarding ticket...get through TSA...and then security...which was the scary part. as I was passing security the agent says to me...step aside....we'll do further search on you....that scared the SHIT outta me.
So I see everyone else getting through and i wasn't...so i got nervous. then this lady comes and swabs my hand and she says she'll do a quick test. Then from her computer says "he's good!" and they let me board my plane... later on my friend tells me that they do that all the time. They have to check for bomb powder... he say's they have done that to him.... so i relaxed. I had never flown so i can tell you that I was pretty excited about being so high up in the sky. It might seem stupid but i felt pretty powerful. Specially because everyone who knows my situation were scared for me flying. They said they were going to deport me... blah blah blah. Doing something that's so simple for many people meant a lot to me. It also made me realize I have to work hard towards getting my degree and hopefully papers. I want to travel all over the world.... |
