I have been looking into that as well. It seems we have to go into the ss office in person and brind passport, new green card and fillout a form. I tried sending it via mail back in Feb/March but they returned my application saying they need to see the original documents.

You have to request a new card. The SSA sent me a new card within two weeks of entering the US. Which was weird, because I did not ask them to send me a new card.

Call them and see if they'll let you request a new card over the mail. Otherwise, they might ask you to come in person to one of their offices.

Man, it has been more than 90 days since I return to the US and still haven't gotten my GC yet. Guideline said I should get it within 90 days. Is there anything I can do?

You did pay the Immigrant Fee ($220), right?

If so, all there is to do is wait.

Anyone here familiar with a mandamus action against the government? My petition has been pending since 12/20 and the delays keep getting longer. I noticed some attorneys are suing the USCIS and asking for $2K to join this lawsuit. See here: https://www.immpactlitigation.com/i-...ff-onboarding/

$2K is not that much money if this works, but I also don’t want to waste my money. Any suggestions?

The USCIS was taking 10-12 months to process I-601A applications before 2020 (COVID). My wife and I submitted our waiver application December 2018 and was approved September 2019.

They stopped processing some applications for almost 12 months and have not been able to catch up.

Not to excuse them, but I don't think suing them will make them go any faster.

Do you have DACA?

If so, do this instead with the $2K... Apply for Advance Parole. Get around the waiver application and the consular proceedings.

Things will move a lot faster

So according to the attorneys on the case, suing them in this case could make the applications move faster if you're part of the lawsuit. However, it would largely depend on when they get a court hearing, and obviously the outcome.

And I already used AP and came back to the US that way. That doesn't really help me though since I accrued unlawful presence after turning 18, but before getting my DACA.
