I used my EAD/AP card to go to a cruise in Sicily with my husband for 14 days. There was no problem going back in, they just took me to a secondary inspection. They only asked for my passport, EAD/AP card, and asked where I went. Virtually all CBP officers are very familiar with EAD/AP card now and it is a routine matter to inspect you, check the systems to make sure it is still valid, you haven't committed any crimes since the combo card was granted, and then send you on your merry way. Good Luck!

Awesome! Sounds just like the same process as DACA AP, which I've like 4 times already. Thanks for the info.

Correct me if wrong but overstays don't have to leave the US when adjusting via marriage, right? So no bar waiver is needed, correct ?

Correct, nor do they have to leave if they are immediate family members of a U.S citizen like unmarried children or parent of a U.S. citizen.

I had my interview last Wednesday in Chicago. It was pretty fast, about 10 to 15 minutes. Most questions were for my U.S. citizen husband. I only had to answer a few of the yes and no questions and about my last entry. The only thing the officer asked for was our ID’s, my birth certificate and marriage certificate. He didn’t give us a paper at the end but he said to expect an answer in the mail in 1-2 weeks. I got the update that my card was in production later that day and the next day everything updated to approved. I still can’t believe it, I’m now waiting for my green card in the mail. It’s such a big blessing. My DACA had expired in July but I had faith that everything was going to work out. I am so thankful for all of you guys who helped me prepare my application and for all the questions that were answered. Thank you all so much!
