Hey, everyone!
I accidently came across this page, but I'm so glad I did! I'm 25, female, living in Orange County, Ca. I've live in the U.S. since I was like 3 yrs. old, this is the only home I know, and I like living here. I've always known that I'm not the only one whos "undocumented", but some stories that I've read here are pretty sad, and i just want to tell everyone not to give up hope on the dream act, we're not alone, there are a lot of people that support the dream act.
I grew up in a "white" neighborhood in Hunting Beach, ca, I had no hispanic friends till middle school, I started to hang out at their houses and that's when I started paying attention to all the immigration stuff, and i realized what my "status" meant. And when i got to high school I realized all the "things" I wouldn't be able to do because of my status and it Frustrated me! I really thought that this dream act would pass by the time i finished high school, but unfortunately it hasn't, but i haven't given up hope yet.
I went to college but had to take a break to work and save up money, I'm thankfull that in california we can pay the normal tuiton at college, that was a huge blessing for so many of us that want to continue our education and i hope that other states allow that soon.
I've been offered pretty good jobs and i hate it that i have to turn them down because of my status, but i'm thankfull that the places were i've worked the people there have been really nice to me.
It pisses me of to see so many people that contribute to society, that are good people treated like criminals. Many of us are just hard working peolpe that want to get ahead in life and do things right!
We can't let things get in our way, we can still do so many things. I have faith the Dream Act will pass!
