I'm trying to get my Mexican passport in NYC. I'm currently in a different state and I'm having issues with having an ID (obviously). The reason I was denied a Mexican passport was because I only had a school ID that showed my first and last name, instead of my FULL name. My school even wrote an affidavit stating that I do attend the school and that my name is as stated. However, I haven't had luck.
I'm thinking of renewing my school ID to show my full name and getting it in NYC. It's my first time going as an adult (by myself). Did anyone go through the process?
Before I go I need to know a few things:
1) what do I need to bring?
2)Do I need to make an advance appointment and how far in advance?
3) How long do I wait until I receive my passport? Is it that same day or have things changed?
Youll find everything you need there. Hope u know how to read Spanish. I suggest u ger ur matricula too. Not every place takes it but its easier to carry around thAn a passport.
In chicago they sometimes have "consumovil" where they come to ur town at certain times. If the NY consulate is the same as Chicagos make sure u make appt ahead of time. And plant to be there a while.
