Is it normal?

I got I-797 way back in september and did biometrics.

I called the USCIS and asked for the update and then they asked me the receipt number for i-821d and I didn't know such thing existed in the first place.

I only have receipt number regarding i-765 from i-797.

Is anyone not approved so far like me or am I the very rare case here?

I'd call USCIS and ask them if they have gotten any mail back from you by the Postal Service, your I-821D's receipt might have gotten lost in the mail. Did they not tell you the other receipt number when you called? I'm pretty sure that if you call with the receipt number from your I-765, they'd be able to tell you the receipt for your I-821D because they usually refer back to each other in their system.

You gotta make sure they haven't gotten any mail back, otherwise USCIS might think you moved or something. And do ask them to send you another copy of the receipt, you have to have that with you as you might need it in the future.

Did you or OP ever receive any text or email alerts regarding the I-821D?

I-821 number should be 1 number below the i 765 number. Like 30 and 31

Yeah I did get notice in like 8/29/2012. But it said it wasn't approval notice.

That helped. Basically I subtracted 1 number, and it has same time line but still "initial review."
