They won't self deport. They will wanna stay here to get their work permits and deferred action granted, apply for the dream act (if it ever passes) AND then lobby to either cancel it/overturn it/modify it, etc. Kinda like how Paul Ryan used his dad's SS and then now wants to turn it into a voucher system. You're all making a dumb, blind assumption that Republican = anti-immigration. Maybe in today's GOP, which isn't Republican at all, this rings true. But real Republicans -- Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Lincoln -- embraced immigration. This GOP is under siege by Tea Party radicals and it's defaming the Republican brand. Such a shame.

That is very very true. I heard someone mention once that this Republican party is not what it used to be. A party of progress and understanding and compromise.
That being said, TODAY'S REPUBLICAN PARTY is anti-immigration.

Real Republicans back then would be Democrats today....Both parties have had substantial shifts in views since the days of Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and Lincoln.

Some have become more extreme, no doubt. But some are still core Republicans. Extract Tea Party-ers from the GOP side and you have a political faction that wants free markets with meaningful, but not extensive, regulation, immigration reform that puts this country back on a path to compete with other nations (core idea behind the DREAM Act), and quite a few other progressive ideas.
