As long as the system is based on a "winner take all" method, it will be a two party system. A few independents win here or there in the lower races but that's what we have. It's a binary system so when your entire life depends on a single issue or you mostly care about a single issue, you have to pick your side. Warts and all, Democrats are our only shot.

Life kind of sucks at the moment but like Al Bundy and the mighty cockroach, I survive.

I agree with you. I think a lot of people on here have a lot of misplaced anger towards the wrong party. Win or lose on getting the Dream Act pass, democrats are more of our allies, a Democrat came up with the Dream Act, a Democrat gave us DACA. Republicans are the ones that mostly don't want us to get legal status or citizenship. If it was up to them we would all be deported. And like it or not Democrats are politicians, and what do politicians do? They try to win votes, we don't vote, and as much as they empathize with us, shutting down the government and causing harm to millions of voting citizens would cause them to lose votes.

Long term I feel like if nothing gets done by March, then the best we can hope for is a blue wave where democrats can become the majority party in both chambers of government and finally have enough votes to pass permanent relief for all dreamers and have enough votes that Trump has to sign it (if he is not impeached by then&#129303. So if we continue to only pressure and bash our allies, we won't have any allies, and that's not good for our cause.

And people here keep on railing against and insulting "Dreamers who love Trump." None of those losers will be posting on this thread. SMH...HYPOCRITES.

Don't listen to this guy people. He got adjusted to a Green Card. He is 100% against Dream Act passing because he is too jealous of other Dreamers. I will personally give anyone here $1K if you get him to say the phrase "I support Dreamers."
