Hey all.

I recall a few people on here mentioning that they've acquired their real estate license.

I used the search function, but the posts/threads on this topic didn't really provide follow up after some of you got licensed.

I'm interested to know how its panned out and in retrospect, was it worth it?

I'm considering going through with it, so any feedback would be appreciated.

I think you're thinking of Carnivore.

I never worked as a software engineer.

Oh, snap. I could've sworn I had read some posts of yours about software engineering. Maybe Carnivore, yeah

i'm a licensed real estate agent but i got it for my ventures. it's nice because i cut out the middle man and take 2.5-3% on each of the deals I would make anyways. As a side hustle, I made about 45k in past two years. It also helps me write off a bunch of business losses. Example I made 60k profit from one of my restaurants which would of cost me about 20k in taxes but I have 15k in real estate losses (mileages, client dinners, and etc...). I think if you plan on being wealthy you should learn about real estate and being a real estate agent is nice to get some great insight. I have agents who contact me about deals before they even hit the market. My long term play is to get a brokerage license and start a property management firm to manage my partners and my holdings.

Getting the license was easy (brought a groupon), took the course, and then passed the exams. Took about 2 weeks time and then I went to find a real estate brokerage firm.

Thanks for the info and good knowledge!

How easy is it to obtain a license in another state after you have one, for example I live in California, but plan to relocate to Nevada or Illinois in 2020.

I'm deciding whether it's worth getting the license in California now or work towards the license for one of the two state I listed above.

it will all depends if there is reciprocity between the state you have license in and the other state: https://theclose.com/real-estate-lic...ty/#California. I have my license in PA and NY because there is reciprocity between the two states. I wanted a license in CO as well and had to start from the course and exams all over.

Thanks for sharing that. Good to see California and Nevada are part of this receprocity. I bought the course on Groupon for Real Estate Express...heard good things.

Las Vegas, Nevada is what the wife and I are shooting for in terms of our relocation. We're looking into Summerlin area, which is the nice part.

Las Vegas has some beautiful homes and I anticipate a big boom in the near future.

Reno, Nevada is also booming.

If you don't mind, I'll be asking questions along the way.

Yeah, I love Las Vegas. Usually there 1-2 a year. Yeah no problems.
