Following today's deplorable actions by the group against Nancy Pelosi, we need to let our voices and our stand be heard.

I have created a Twitter account under the username I use on this forum: @Ed_Gnome

I urge all of you to sign up for Twitter if you don't have an account. If you don't want to use your personal info, sign up with your username from DAP, and ally yourself to the DAP Twitter account. Check out my Twitter bio for an example:

Quote:
#DACA-mented Tech Professional –Gnome @DreamAct_Portal –#Dreamers support a compromise. #DreamersForCompromise
Once you sign up, follow the DAP Twitter account at @DreamAct_Portal.

Let's like and retweet DAP's and each other's tweets. This can give us a chance to get some new hashtags going, like #DreamersForCompromise I added to my profile.

By having a personal account, you can voice your own opinion, not worrying about whether it encompasses of all DAP. But by interacting with each other's posts and responding to high-profile people – like @NancyPelosi – we can let our voice be heard, especially when news break, like it happened today.

For now, let's target these accounts:

California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance (responsible for today's shameful protest at Ms. Pelosi's conference)
Their Twitter: https://twitter.com/ciyja?lang=en
Their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ciyja/?hc_r...0g-NjA7yhg5rQY
Their website contact: https://www.ciyja.org/contact-us

United We Dream:
Their Twitter: https://twitter.com/UnitedWeDream

Let your voice be heard! Don't let your support be muddled among all the controversies, scandals, and circus acts like the one today by California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance.

One final note: if you create or have an account dedicated to Dream Act/DACA posts, please leave your Twitter username here so we can follow each other.

Thank you for creating this.

Honestly, while I realize we need to counter UWD/CYJA's messages, we can't spend our energy on them.

Firstly, we need to use the #DreamAct hashtag along with other positive ones, and focus on RT others and get the facts out about Daca.

I am afraid us bickering with the CYJA and UWD contributes to the current misconceptions about us and doesn't really help us improve our image.

Just my two cents.

I agree! I realize, too, that we are venting after what we saw happened this morning. Either way, we are lettings our views be heard.

I agree with you on spending our energy on positive campaigns, so this is useful for encouraging others to become active on social media with those positive messages.

Thanks. I'm glad you agree.

We just need to drown them out and, to quote FL_Dreamer: "kill them with kindness!"

While we're at it, perhaps we can direct reporters who cover immigration issues to hear our message.
