Anyone who got their GC or became a US Citizen applied for Global Entry? My husband got his GC and wondering if he is eligible or not. Reasons of ineligibility includes violation of immigration laws. I saw a post who was an overstay before got approved for Global Entry. Another one with a 601a waiver has his application still pending.

After reading around a little and having applied myself, I would say not worth it.

If you a resident or citizen you can definitely apply, but the big issue turns out to be having a spotless record.

I have seen even government workers with clearance get subjected to delay or denied from GE.... really!

Best thing to do to save your self time, money and patience. Do TSA Pre check only and upon returning use the MBC app from CBP.

ok. I think I'll just wait when my husband will be a citizen to download the app. From what i read those who use the waiver route will always be sent to secondary screening until you will become a citizen.

I was going to apply for GE. I had filled out my application but never submitted it. I did research and found the same issues as described above, so I decided to apply for citizenship instead and then do GE. I did not want to run the risk of being accused of lying to an immigration officer as others applying for GE have experienced.

I’ll apply for GE once USC. The curse has to end at some point.

I was looking forward to GE but after reading the comments here I’ll be holding off. How’s the process of getting pre check?

Just an update on this, approval came through appeal. Wrote a long letter on how it infringed on my rights.

Did you apply for GE when you are a citizen or a PR?
