Out of state tuition in Florida

Anybody applied for the out of state tuition waver AFTER the 24 months of graduating high school? A friend graduated in 2012 and wants to study business administration to do better in his construction business. He has lived here in FL for 15 years.

The waiver that we are eligible for didn't become law until July 2014. The rule is that you have to apply to college within 24 month after high school graduation. So he just needed to apply for college within 2 years after leaving high school, you didn't even have to take any classes.

Where in Florida does he want to attend? I had some issues as well but I resolved them.

UCF or Valencia

I had the same the issue when transferring to FIU. But I eventually got in contact with the person that approves or denies the Florida waiver, because the college I was going to at the time was giving me in state that was sufficient enough for that person to give me in state. I would suggest finding that person at those locations and see what they can do for you. Good luck!
