Anyone with an application pending in NYC field office?

I submitted a stand-alone I-130 in December, which has been routed to Texas Service Center. I selected NYC as my field office since I live in NYC. Received a receipt notice, but waiting for next steps.

I need to re-open and terminate (or, alternatively, change venue) my removal case before I can file AOS application

I'm from NYC and still waiting for my interview. I filed last year of September.

Not in NYC, but at least you doing it the proper way. I assume you are doing a joint motion with the government to terminate proceedings which would allow a quicker process.

Change of venue? New Judge?

It is my understanding that ICE won't consent to a joint motion until the I-130 is approved. I'd rather not wait until then to reopen since that would add a few months of delay. So my hope is to file a motion to reopen, then, depending on which judge the case gets assigned to, to file either a motion to terminate (since one judge is more open to granting those when adjusting through USC spouse) or a motion to change venue to NYC (since another judge would deny motion to terminate, but might grant change venue) given that my case is in a different jurisdiction. I plan to file a motion to terminate or change venue regardless of whether ICE does a joint motion or agrees not to oppose. I'm hoping they won't outright oppose.

Hmmm.....I was under the impression that a joint motion with ICE was possible as long as prima facie eligibility for the immigration benefit was shown to counsel. I assume you never had voluntary departure or an order to gain favorable discretion for a motion?

Anyway, I can see why you are concerned for time while favorable regulations (and judges) are still in place.

Hello Everyone! There is pages and pages of info! ONLY because I am pressed on time. I am trying to find a definitive answer. I am going to my INS Medical Exam today. Because with AOS I want to file the forms with only my First and Married last name, should this Medical Exam form be the same way as well? DACA-AP-AZ DL-SS# has my First name +2 Maiden last names-married last name! TIA!!
