Are you apply for a visa through your US Citizen spouse?

If so, you don't need the waiver. You can just apply for Adjustment of Status (AOS). That is literally the whole reason many user here use AP, to clear their Entry Without Inspection (EWI) and then apply for AOS.

My lawyer told me to do it that way, but AP was taken away when I was going through the process. So, my only option was request the waiver.

Demise is very knowledgeable. You should send him a message and see what he says.

Glad to hear that!

Can't believe it had to come to that.

Do the Uscis send NVC a copy of the 601a approval? Do we need to bring a copy of the 601a approval during interview?

USCIS is supposed to send a copy to the NVC.

Yes, definitely, bring a copy for the 601A approval to the interview.

Just got my green card after going through the consulate processing at the end of September. I was wondering if anyone ever applied for Global Entry? Are we eligible since we have immigration violation?

Finally my husband is flying back to LA this weekend. He went home to the Philippines after 20yrs for his interview last August. He did not pass the xray exam and was required to do the 3day sputum collection and waited for 2months for the result. The St Lukes Medical center there is notorious for failing applicants in their xray exam. (Lots of applicants have no problem with their xray from other hospitals but they would not accept that) After being cleared he was interviewed last 11/22. Interview was a breeze. Consul took his passport and was told to wait for 2-3wks for the visa. After a week Ceac status says refused. I got worried so i emailed the embassy 12/8 and they replied administrative processing. Finally his visa was issued last 12/11. Will they put him on secondary inspection at LAX?

How was the process, interview?

Did you adjust through spouse?

Yes, i adjust through spouse. The interview is short and easy, just some basic questions. However, they did put me through the administrative process that lasted for about 4 weeks.

Finally got approved. They really did slow down over the past 12 months... applications are now taking roughly 44 months to get reviewed. Figured I'd share the news in case anyone here is considering going through with this process. Definitely worth it, and I can't believe I'm finally *almost* legal here :O
