Wells Fargo Private Loan
A while back I posted about the Wells Fargo sponsor loan, but how I wasn't sure if it would work or not since I hadn't tried it out. About a week ago I applied for it, with a family member as the US citizen sponsor, and I just got the e-mail today that it was approved . It hasn't been disbursed yet, it's scheduled to in a few weeks, but I'm pretty sure everything's set now.

*edit: It was disbursed, and worked out without any hassle.

I hope this helps you guys out, I know how hard it is to pay for an education, especially in the states that charge out-of-state tuition (like mine). Here's the link to it:

https://www.wellsfargo.com/student/loans/index#parents

I'm sorry to say this, but it won't help everyone. You need a U.S. citizen sponsor, as you're not the one actually applying for it, that's the person who'll get the money, and they can then put that money towards your tuition bills. Apply through the phone, the number is 1-800-658-3567. The online application doesn't accept an ITIN for the "student", but I called them and the said an ITIN was fine to use, and so we just did it through the phone.

You're sponsor is the one who will do all the applying, have them call Wells Fargo. If they're credit-approved, then they'll have to send in some documents, like pay-stubs, identification and so on. You'll have to provide your school's tuition bill, or schedule, or a note from the Dean that proves that you're enrolled. Sending in your identification will probably help too. You'll also have to fill out a self-certification form that asks what the total costs will be, and what aid you're getting. Ask your school's financial aid office if you have trouble filling this out. After they get through processing all the documents, your sponsor will have to sign a Credit Agreement, and you should be set after Wells Fargo checks with your school to make sure all the info is correct.

I make it sound complicated, but it's really not that bad. If you need help then just let me know and I'll try to explain it more. Good luck!

Tuition Management Systems Monthly Payment Plan
I use TMS on a monthly payment plan as well, along with the loan. On it, you pay a small upfront fee, and it allows you to spread the entire cost of your education over the eight or so months you're in college or so in college. The best part is that there is no interest involved, so the total cost of it is much less then the loan. I highly recommend that you check it out, and use it only if you can manage to afford the monthly payments. If not, then try to use it in concert with the loan, paying monthly what you can, and borrowing the part you can't with the loan. The website is:

afford.com

I can't guarantee that they'll be able to work with your school, but from what I gather they work with the majority of colleges across the nation.

How long do you think this whole process will take?

The whole process took us about a week and a half, though you can probably do it in less time. We spent some time just going back and correcting some typos in the application, that probably took a day or two. Try to send it all the documentation they ask for as quick as possible, to speed things up.

I think he chose the uncertified private student loan option. He could have potentially loaned $25,000. How much did you loan anyways piratedream?

Yeah, I wish there were more options out there for people, hopefully we won't have to jump through these hoops for much longer.

That's the one, and we went for $14,000. It's not my entire tuition, but the rest my parents can pay, and it takes the stress off of them by not having to worry about it all

Let me know how the credit-card goes, I'm trying to get one too.

@YesWeCan: Good luck! I hope it works out for you too.
@CosmicDream: It's the Private Loan

How strong was your co-sponsor's credit rating?
