social security card delay

i went to the social security department and applied for a social security card on the dec 19, 2012 and they said i should receive it within 2 weeks but i still havent gotten it today as jan 10, 2013. so i went to there again and asked them if there was anything wrong with my application, but they told me the delay might be caused by the extreme high amount of applications in the recents days and told me to wait for couple more weeks.

so i was wondering if that has happen to anyone else across the nation? (im current in reside in louisiana)

it happened to me...im in FL... it says on the paper they give you after you apply that it could take 30 days... i got it like 3 weeks after i applied.

it said i should get it within 2 weeks on my paper... i guess the only thing i can do is to wait now...

i got mine yesterday. i applied 10 days ago but i'm in ny.

Oh, I never receive the letter by mail. they gave me the letter at the office.

Did any of you wait the ten days? Or did you go as soon as your EAD card arrived?

i waited 2 weeks coz i got finals, but it doesn't seem to matter. coz u r only there to hand in the form, got in and got out in 3 minutes minus the wait.

Please don't ever post those tumblr pictures in here. It's quiet disgusting with the atmosphere here. That being said, I also received a letter after applying saying I'd receive an SSN within two weeks.

and how long did it take for them to mail it to you?
