yea i kno, NV doesnt have in-state, but what they do have, is when someone opens a business, and registers it as not having any employees, (a lot of family owned biz's do this, b/c of not having to deal with the health insurance, and ssn's etc.), they just hire people, who can obtain a health card. there are so many out here, so i guess if i can't go to college yet, because its expensive, at least i can save up money, while working,

A few questions,

Does anybody here have a Wamu account?
And what did you need to get it?

For a Bank of America account, do they accept expired passports by any chance?

It's best you use the search feature next time you ask a question that has a high probability of being asked before.

To answer you, I have a WaMu account. I actually had gone in to cash a check and they asked me if I wanted a checking account because it would be easier to cash checks. I said yes, and they asked for my I.D. I told them I only had my Matricula Consular and he said it was fine. He asked for my SSN but I told him I only had a ITIN and he said that was fine. I only had one piece of I.D. at the time and he opened my account anyway. It was all free, and in about 15 minutes I had my new bank account. I cashed my check without having to give any money to them (like those stupid check cashing places). In about 10 days I got a package in the mail with the checks with my name on them and my new debit card. Oh and he setup my online banking right there on the spot. That took about three or so minutes. When I got home, I was able to login and check out my account. I love WaMu so far...

I live in Los Angeles.

I also have Bank of America, I opened my account with my dad's help (both he and my mom have their accounts there). I've had it for about two years, before that I would make my dad keep my money in his account.

When we opened my account, I brought my passport, expired FL ID and my ITIN card.

I also have the picture debit card, which makes it SO much easier since they sometimes ask for ID at some stores if you only need to sign the receipt and not put ur pin number.

Wells Fargo, Chase/Wamu will also let you open an account. Those are much better options and much better than Bank of America.

About getting a credit card, you can do it without a SSN. It called Secured Credit and it's an easy way to do it, you give them $2,000 deposit for example and you get $2,000 credit. After awhile you build your credit and then you don't need a secured credit card anymore and can get a normal credit based on your credit score.
Another option is to get someone who has a credit already to sign on you to get a credit through him.
