Hello DAP Members,

I have a proposition for anyone who is interested in the translation field. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the translation profession is expected to grow in the next ten years. I have decided to explore this area and begin networking with other bilingual DAP members who are thinking of doing the same.

I encourage anyone who speaks English and Spanish to form a group to begin our formation as professional translators. If you love languages and would like the opportunity to keep up with your Spanish, I think we can come together for a good cause that could potentially turn into a business in the long term.

My vision of the beginning stages of our group is to work together on a project to help our group gain recognition in the translation community. At this time, Coursera, which offers free online education is seeking the aid of translators to render course video subtitles from English to other languages.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact me via PM. I would like to get our group started very soon and would welcome other ideas to get our group going.

I'm very interested in anything related to languages! Spanish is my first language. English is my second one. So I'd like to focus more on translating English into Spanish. I'm currently studying French and Italian.

It'd be really interesting to hear some feedback from people who have worked as translators!

Awesome. It's definitely worth considering the field. Check out the link I just updated in the original post.

I will send a PM to anyone who is interested by the end of the week with more concrete details.
