ongressional leaders are poised to meet in a snowy Washington on Wednesday to finalize a deal on a $1.3 trillion spending package that could include money for border barriers, but not President Trump's wall.

The White House has demanded $1.6 billion in funding for the president's signature issue, one of several fights that has held up talks days before a possible government shutdown.

It appears the legislation will fall well short of Trump's demands, but could include $641 million for 33 miles of new border fencing. It would also include $1.296 billion in funding new border technology. The funding would only be used for levees and fences, not a concrete wall, according to the source familiar with the discussions.

Trump hoped to win $25 billion in money that could be put in a trust for the wall.

Not surprised.

So if omnibus passes without daca relief what is the next deadline.
Is it the court hearing or another CR?

641 M is such a insignificant figure in terms of border security. R won’t agree to do anything for us at that amount. At best a bridge act...

That is probably a drop in the bucket for standard border security.

Isn't funding for more border fencing always part of these kind of deals, even in the past years? I would think so.

So basically...just seems like another same ole same ole day in Washington.

"It would also include $1.296 billion in funding new border technology."

It's like you guys just glossed over this number and went straight to the "$640 million is nothing"!...as if to....GASP...Continue the cycle of denial!

It's all about optics. You think the Trump Base or GOP care about the money or the wall? All they have to say is look! we secured $1.5 billion for Border security. Their base doesn't care what that money is used for or are they smart enough. All they want to hear is "We have more border security. Trump wins again!"

And what does this say about the Dems allowing the GOP to placate their base? Caved once again for nothing. Sad!

Please return to your regular programming. Big Brother will re-calibrate your chips now.

Trump is ok with drivers licenses being taken away from DREAMers or as he likes to call us 'illegal immigrants':

@realDonaldTrump
Department of Justice should have urged the Supreme Court to at least hear the Drivers License case on illegal immigrants in Arizona. I agree with @LouDobbs. Should have sought review.
