What is the current wait for a GC if my mother is a USC and I’m an unmarried adult son over the age of 21 from Mexico??? I believed it was 7-8 years but recently reached out to a lawyer that is stating a 20 year wait.

Anyone know the current wait time for this type of petition?

Thanks in advance…

20 years if you’re from Mexico
13 Years if you’re from Philippines
8 Years if you’re from anywhere else

I went within this exact route in this category. 6 years wait then.

You are probably better off just finding some other avenue of sponsorship and using your USC mother as a qualifying relative for a waiver because with F1/Mexico you will be waiting forever.

Regardless of the wait, go ahead and apply ASAP so you can be in line.

I applied in 2011 and my PD got current in 2017.
