Let's make everything crystal clear, with just the right mix of logic and emotion:

Let's do it, but let's not use DREAM Act Portal as our organization name. I say we drop the dream part all together and go with AIM (Advocates for Immigrant Minors) or if someone can think of something better. We really need to start behaving like a "real" organization. Magrad can't do it alone.

This report pretty much encompasses many of or arguments. Combined with a few of our stories and maybe send a rep to DC (or Chicago).

Hey, VaeVictis, I'll make the Document (give me a week) but do you mind putting your info on the form since you're a citizen?

Everyone else, think of a name.

No problem. I think AIM sounds radtastic as well. I also agree that MAGrad can't go it alone. MA's been forcefully on top of things in a way that I couldn't ever match!

This is a good idea.
On November 14, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights met with the Obama team and in the documents submitted includes suggestions for policies that can be enacted in the first 100 days and in the first year. They suggested that they should pass the Dream Act in his first year in office.

Immigration: Congress and the Administration should demonstrate a solid commitment to comprehensive immigration reform – starting, as a downpayment, with the swift enactment of bipartisan legislation such as the DREAM Act (H.R. 1275/S. 2205)
I love how they used the words downpayment and swift enactment.

I second that. I kinda wish DREAM was placed in the "first 100 days" category, but i understand why it wouldnt be.

Goodness, wouldnt it be great to be driving a year from now! Oh the things i could accomplish.

It's awesome that at least one organization already submitted a document mentioning DREAM. Now's let's send them our own to reinforce the urgency.

YGAA, I think that's a good template for our document.

Another organization has submitted a document in which they call for immediate passage of the dream act.

Read about it here.
