Hey everyone!

I found this site a few months ago and I liked what I read. It feels good to know there are people out there in the same situation as me. I came here legally when I was 10, but overstayed my visa. I'm 22 years old, just graduated with a degree in finance and am going to another university to take some extra classes. I want to go to grad school, but I just found out that you need an ID to take the GRE which is required for almost all grad admissions.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the DREAM amendment to the defensive authorization act. Thank you all for sharing your stories. I finally feel like I have a place to go to where no one asks stupid questions like, "why don't you have an ID?" "where do you work?" "when are you gonna be able to go to the bars with us?"

Welcome hrvatica13, please help us and yourself by spreading the word of DREAM ACT and asking for mass support, and mass calling, and please make many, I mean many calls yourself in the morning and now if possible. Welcome to the DAP again.

College ID is not enough?

I wanted to apply to Cornell grad school of eng. next year and I need the GRE for that. I dont have any form of ID except my college ID.

hey nick,

i went to the GRE website to see how I can register for it and it says on the day of testing you need to present an ID with a picture and a signature. (Passport, DL, State ID, etc.) However, it says if your primary ID doesn't have a photo or signature you need to present either a student ID, a letter from your undergrad institution, or a government issued ID that hasn't expired. There may be a way to get around it, but I don't know.

Here's the link to the ID requirements for the GRE general test.

Thanks for the info. I never even thought that this could be a problem.
