okay, no your case is not complicated and no you don't need a lawyer. this forum has been better and more informed than alot of lawyers.

so for question 3a, put yes if you know for sure you got a letter of deportation. from reading your case was closed so 3b check the b box administratively closed.

no only criminal activities, contradicting information, lies, if you are a threat to the nation or not enough evidence will affect your application. since your SS is real, then you have nothing to worry about, it's now part of you identity.

send the money order to U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

thanks for that info. i'm gonna look again in the paperwork that my parents have and make sure we did get a letter of deportation. if so i'll follow these steps.. thanks a lot
p.s. i might have a few more questions. lol

Is a birth certificate with translation absolutely required? I have a passport, consular ID and a couple of high school ID's that I'm using as proof of identity.

If you have a valid passport, then you don't need to send a copy of your birth certificate.

What exactly do you mean by valid? Is one issued by a Mexican consulate valid?

A passport that hasn't expired, preferably with a current photo. I translated my birth certificate because my passport expired in 1996! Haha, and I was around 5 years old in the photo.
