No. Nobody would be able to sponsor their parents.

The immigrant groups complaining will just be ignored. Come Feb. 8th, they will take this over nothing. This is a reasonable deal actually. Dems lost the position and power to be picky about "limits." It's this or a little better version or nothing.

Again it’s a framework- trump himself said he’s ready to negotiate with dems. We’ll see..

Sounds to me like they either don't know the correct number or their is an age limit in place.

This is for all who arrived as children, even those with TPS, hb4 beneficiaries, etc.

If they keep an arrived by date- ie, by 2012, thats fine, but an age cap is dumb.

I feel like the no parent sponsorship will be a tug of war.

It honestly isn't that bad, but the family sponsorship worries me. Why would LPRs and citizens go for this?

If this is truly the starting point for negotiations and the white house is willing to give some concessions, then there is a deal to be had that I would be happy with.

Hopefully they at least manage to include those 3 year renewable work permits for parents

Agreed I think this will be a breaking point... it’s basically taking away the rights of a USC. I can see it as not allowing dreamers who qualify to sponsor parents.

yes but it does not cover aged out Dreamers of 2012.

Trump will support a path to citizenship for DACA recipients and Dreamers who were eligible for DACA but didn’t apply, which is about 1.8 million Dreamers

up to 1.8 million not 3.0 million who wouldve been covered by the Dream Act itself.

Nope, wrong #s.

Daca did not have a 50 % participation rate. The rest of this 1.8 are aged out and too young,

3.6 includes tps, hb4, h1b kids, etc. not out of status Dreamers.

Dems need to negotiate coverage for actual Dreamers, all of them.
