RW: Let's talk about this discharge petition. The rules in the House and the Senate can get positively Byzantine but the idea here is to discharge with the committee process and to force a vote on the floor of this Bridge Act that you talk about, extending DACA. Do you have the votes to do it? I think you need a majority, correct? So there would have to be Republicans voting for this, not just Democrats with you.

MC: Absolutely. If Democrats hold, there are enough Republicans to put it over that 218 threshold to pass and get into the Senate. I think there's support there is in the Senate and I think we'll get it to the president. I believe the president would sign it.

So many questions to be asked and answered, e.g. If BRIDGE passes and my DACA ead expires in two years from today I get a total of 5 years protection?

No the program sunsets after 3 years. Our protection will all end on the same day.

I would assume so. You'll apply for BRIDGE nearing the end of your DACA.
Keeping in mind that BRIDGE is for 3 years only, with no renewal after that.

Bridge Act, RACA, Dream Act etc they all look the same to me although I know they have differences.

Fucking ridiculous infantile mentality. "Well, if you don't like the country, you can get out!" how about you come up w/a debatable argument?

As much as we hate the guy, we really should give credit to Trump on handling this right now. Here's a couple of major points which makes me very optimistic.

- He said he would end Obama's "illegal amnesties on Day 1". He did not.
- Because of him, the entire country now knows the Dreamers and DACA is number 1 issue at the moment being talked about my the media.
- He is truly pushing Congress to act. He has put the Dems in a corner. This issue is CONGRESS's responsibility. It can't just continue existing as an act of prosecutorial discretion.
- After the decision tomororw, I truly think DACA recipients will be EVEN SAFER than before with endorsement from Trump himself. Even a lot of his supporters are starting to support Dreamers.

I just don't think we can afford to keep blaming Trump and demonizing him on tomorrows decision. It does appear that at least he's giving a 6 month time frame for Congress to act. But Dems must understand that he will not sign a bill that doesn't have enforcement measures!

Well said.
