Haha...this is even more sad and hope-shattering than the 2010 DA vote. All the public support and polls riding on our backs didn't produce a single ray of light. The Senate leadership + Trump have managed to shatter quite spectacularly, the hopes of millions of young immigrants.

Thanks to our Dem leaders' overconfidence, we went from lowballing the Prez with $1.8B to begging him to take $25Billion, then offering to block parental sponsorships...with nothing to show for in conclusion. Now we the dreamers must face the wrath of negligence.

I mentioned in another thread if 10 years they have not advanced legislation what made this time different? I have not seen one legit specific answer...than "You'll see!". In addition, I mentioned it is best to look to the courts as a balance....which has proven true with both Federal judges.

You are quite right. However, the Dems had a very solid chance of reaching a deal with him when they introduced the bill after the Jan meeting. They squandered it when TPS was added on to our issue and the wall funding was way below the $18Billion they were initially asking for.

When your starting offer is sooo low that it makes you disgusted, ofc it'll piss you off and poisons the good faith negotiations.

Senators dont like to be dictated by the Executive to solely approve or disapprove. Debate and compromise are the only way the Senate can pass anything.

Trump sunk the whole process with his veto threat.

Good point but guess what? The Collins bill was a compromise that could have been amended but pussy Rep Senators (except the brave 8 that voted for it) backed away, even people like Sen. Hatch, Sen. Corker, Sen. Heller. Those 3 could have put the billmpver the top but chose the partisan approach by the White House which only got 39 yay votes.

I tell ya...this government is fucked up.
