I am thinking of doing the ROTC SMP program right after I become a US Citizen, anyone on the same boat?

Isn't that only if you're currently in school? I guess you can just enroll one to fast track being comissioned. I think the only other route is waiting 1 yr working your MOS before submitting a packet for OCS, which is probably the tough way to go.

Thought about doing ROTC SMP as well but now that I know about the Army PA program - IPAP gonna go for that.

So one of the newbies in my unit, also a MAVNI, but not a DACA, was supposed to ship out next month, and suddenly got ship date moved to Feb 2017.. which happens to be same as mine.

She has no idea what the reason is...

Most of the time is due to incomplete or pending background checks, or it could be MOS related also, but it seems to be pretty common right now. The lack of timely notice for the delay is the real problem, where you don't have a solid answer even 2 days out before you drop everything to go to BCT, hopefully this nonsense will improve by the time we fly out.

If you go on the fb mavni group you'll see the typical brainless advice such as : 'just prioritize and let your employer know (literally) from the plane that you're leaving for military'.... except not everyone has an hourly job working at Wendy's, some of us have careers, etc. where it's absurd to give someone a 1 hr notice for an extended leave.
