Re: From in-crowd to out
When I read Bruinman's comments I get really disappointed. What if he is right ? I really need this to happen this year. Like many others there is no waiting for us :(

^Pay no attention to him. Simply do your part and hope for the best. It's all we really can do.

Re: From in-crowd to out
Bruinman, on the CIR issue, I think the best definition is this:
CIR is to cover those aren't cover by Dream Act. There are educated young people, because they exceed the age limit (current version is 15 or under brought into USA), they aren't qualify for DA. In this case, it would be my sister. Not everyone cross the border, I stayed here with an expire Visa. LOL So yeah. ^^" But you are right. CIR is not really into the student side. DA is only for the educated young people meeting the requirements. |

If you are in school just focus on school. Do whatever you can now, focus on your life. DA and CIR will be handy soon. Not much for CIR at this point. DA is at a great chance. I don't take any side (I am moderate in politic), but I do see the Obama administration is doing a lot in the back scene for these reforms. |

Bruinman never backs up his opinion with any evidence, and after having replied to him many times, there is no longer a need to reply to his posts unless he provides something that backs up his opinion. I spend at least 2 hours ( some times up to 5 hours) online reading different news articles. I have yet to see a single article that says DA has a better chance standalone ( it might be there somewhere, but have not seen one) So please stop feeding his posts. I do not want to see another good thread getting locked because of stupid reasons. We need to move on and focus on the issues. Be it DA or CIR, whichever that comes up in the agenda, we need to push for it. Quote:
He could go around the web and check all senator's voting history, figure out how they would likely vote on each bill ( CIR vs DA) and after comparing their voting history and having guessed how each senator would vote, then he could count them. After having all the data then he can present us with his findings and when we see the numbers that says DA has more votes than CIR, then we can take his posts seriously. I like the latter method better, but until when he can present us with even one article, supporting his point view, until then he has no credibility. P.S. I am not trying to promote that CIR is the better way. I just don't agree with what Bruiman claims. He has failed to provide anything to back what he says. |
Re: From in-crowd to out
Bluestar, how dare you question Master Bruinman's political savvy. He doesn't need any darn newspaper articles to back up his claims. His prediction skills were bestowed upon him by Master Tim Russell.
Legend has it, as he laid on his deathbed, and right before he drew his last breath, he perked up and whispered into Bruinman-son's ear: Avenge me! Spread the truth about CIR vs DA!... Oh, and I am your father. |
Re: From in-crowd to out
Just so people know, being in the country illegally is a civil offense, not a crime. The people who call our parents criminals are the same people who want us deported. Don't keep spreading the same lies.

Re: From in-crowd to out
I have to agree with pygmalion. Instead of complaining for the things we cannot control, we ought to focus on what we can change. Does it make DA a sure thing? No, but giving up because the task is hard is not what DA is about, nor what any of you guys are about.
Don't come every day just to read the news. Be part of a local group, be part of the phone campaign in DAP or make your own, give flyers in school/church/club, write a letter to your congressperson or your dean. Call every person in your cell phone agenda and tell them about the nurse that is working as a nannie or the teacher that is working as a janitor. Do what is in your power. At the same time do not forget the basics, take breaks, have fun and keep living your life. What if you still fail? well, then let if fail. Let life crush you and tell you that you are not the chosen one, meant to make the world in seven days but a human that fears and cries like everyone else. Then, like the phoenix get up and come back to life stronger and wiser. It does sound cheese, wish there were better words. The worst you can do is to let life crush you now and pretend it happen because you did not cared. Then keep pretending you don't know the limits of your capacity. You will be the failure that is always fearing to fail. There is nothing wrong with failing and giving it another try or discovering that this is too much and moving to greener pastures. Still, you are never going to find out where to go if you do not open the door. |
