What does that mean? To me, there are 56 dems who will vote for DA.
So, I hope there are some republicans who will vote for DA. So far we need four republicans.

If I am wrong, please correct me.

Last count we were 4 votes short on the #dreamact So far no Republican Senator has committed to vote for it. 60 votes are needed for Sat.

I'm thinking he's only counting democrats voting in favor. I heard Durbin say he had 57 votes yesterday so I can only assume that's with Lugar.

He is saying we have 56 votes (Democrats) and NO REPUBLICANS VOTES COMMITTED....? Well, if his sources are right, with 56 Democrats for the Dream Act, I think the Dream Act will pass because we have 4 solid Republicans that look to vote yay.

two out of this gang might seal the deal!

Murkowski, Collins, Voinovich, Brownback or Ensign?

I also have to note that if some senators don't vote at all 58 or 59 would pass the bill. If Hutchison, McCain (doubt), LeMieux sits out? 3/5ths of the senate or does it still have to be 60to beat a fillabuster?

If what he is saying is true, this is great news. We have a definite shot at this.

Cloture votes are based on all senators "duly elected" so 60 is the threshold regardless of who is present.

I wonder what Ramos is thinking. Lugar is a Republican, and he's obviously going to support it.
