Somebody needs Latino votes for Obama's re-election. It is highly unlikely those decisive votes would go for republicans, but Latinos have to come out to vote. And what is better to entice them than a pro-immigration proposal.

Read the title carefully.
Agendas are "taxes", "spendings" and "immigration".
Immigration comes last, just like any other years.
Senate will do something with taxes and spendings, but when a topic such as "immigration" comes, it is the time for their long recess and holidays.
Isn't it so sick and tired for some of you?
It has been the trend for more than decade. Wake up everyone.

I think CIR/DA will get passed this year with bi-partisan support in both House and Senate.

Only way to pass CIR or DA is if you can get suport from atlest two of these senators: Mccain, Graham, Hatch, McConnal....if you can get any two of these you can pass CIR, but without them don't even think about it. I think best chances of passing CIR is with Mccain & Graham. If you can get both them others like: Lugar, Brown, Snow, Collins, Hutchison, Rubio, Kirk(IL) many more and also dont forget blue dog dems like: Manchin and others who voted NO on DA will come to support since repubs suporting it.

Part of the reason that the DA didn't pass was because the people who opposed the act thought that it would give Obama and the Democrats an voting advantage in the 2012 elections, because these people know that this ethnic group votes mostly for the Democratic candidates in charge. Cheney has been also been saying recently that he's confident that Obama would be a one term president. So, I think one reason that it hasn't been passed is because of fear about Obama winning in 2012.

Mccain recently said he wants CIR. Graham did come up with a CIR bill last year.

Hatch likes DA but he voted no for some other reason.

Why CIR?? If the DA has a long shot why are we even talking about the CIR??? First of all Republicans were whining about how they won't be able to check our records, criminal records, taking away benefits from actual US citizens, etc. Now imagine what people will think about CIR coming out for discussion in congress. The DA didn't had that much coverage on the media this last session, but lets see of CIR will be on Fox news, CNN and all those BS news programs. Thats just part of their system. The actual good jobs that offer benefits, good pay, humane working conditions, and respect are mostly for legal residents/ citizens. What will happen ig CIR passes and all of a sudden nobody wants to do construction for 10 bucks and hour???

I can't believe the intelligence and ignorance level of some of you thinking about CIR. I do feel very optimistic that the DA will pass someday. Don't know when but it will pass someday. CIR has no chance unless some sort of big major natural disaster happens in Mexico, or latin america like the earthquake in 1985 (mexico) and then they came out with amnesty.

I say, when and if the DREAM Act passes you build a statue in honor of Hatch. :)

Good luck!
