I think this could work to our advantage. We can gauge the Republican reaction to this bill to see if DA hold a chance in the House.

I'm sure if a Senator or Representative offered a bill in which only you could benefit, you wouldn't necessarily turn it down. You wouldn't love it; but you would definitely take the offer given to you. Because in the end of the day, SOMEONE is getting relief. Better than no one getting relief.

Fuck them both.

I do agree that it's not fair. I am 21 myself, so this new STARS Act probably won't apply to me (I have to be clarified of the whole volutary departure thing).

All I know is that politics is a dirty business, and (most) politicians are dirty people who are much more selfish and greedy than parasitic bugs, which only bleed the host dry. In this case, all undocumented students are the host, and we are being bled dry. :\

Have you finished college? If not, I would like to think that it is easy for you to make that extremely altruistic argument favoring Pelaez because you have not "invested" as much.

The STARS Act is fucking bullshit.

I say older dreamers who already have bachelors degrees come out with their own bill now saying if you already have a degree not any degree a B.S. then we should be granted a T.P.S. of some sort. The difference between many of us and her is that we started fighting for everyone and over the years have narrowed our scope for any relief. Many of us at this point have aged out of almost all possible relief. Daniela Pelaez however started by bitching only about herself and her sister. Its good if someone gets something out of this but the way she has presented herself and her case its basically another wet foot dry foot rule (only a selected few are special).
SO FUCK HER!

Not to mention, Pelaez is also fucking over her own sister who is 25. I still say fuck Rivera and Pelaez.

At that age (19), I have to admit I wanted a green card. Now that I'm way older, I'll settle for anything.

She will see the big picture as she gets older.

I pretty much finished. Just waiting on my degree. Trying to apply to medical school but not having high hopes for it... I personally think I've invested plenty, but I'm not sure if my standards of investment and yours are equal.

And I don't favor Pelaez at all. She can do whatever she wants. I couldn't care less about which DREAM/STARS Act she supports; I just want to see a DREAM Act on the table for voting this Congress. And I don't really have an opinion on this STARS Act because I don't really see it going anywhere...

Kudos. Eeeeeeeeeeeee You must have one thick skin. I would be fucking pissed if I were you.

I am fucking pissed because I just graduated, will start graduate school in the fall, and would like to go to law school after a Master's. My dreams are huge, and I have invested all my blood, tears, and sweat. This shit utterly pisses me off.

Re: David Rivera introduces immigration bill with Daniela Pelaez

This is what I've invested so far:

$25,000 on tuition
(missed out)--$30,000 on overtime
$5,000 on books aprox.
$5,000 misc--gas, materials, mandatory trips

I will now invest about:
$40,000 on an MBA program. (books included)
$5,000 on misc....

This does not include living expenses. It takes a lot of sacrifice and hard work but it sure is possible.

So you see, young dreamers, some of us have invested way too much to walk away empty handed (sort of). That's why we have to support a bill that will benefit the majority of dreamers.
