Rivera introduces the STARS Act and the ARMS ACT in a couple of months, and yet Rubio isn't finished with his version of the Dream Act? C'mon, everyone should know by now that he's milking the DA.

I hope he proves me wrong and introduces his bill this month. If not, I say we focus on pressuring Obama for an EO.......cuz we all know the Original DA is going nowhere.

I read some of the bill...this concerns me
‘(ii) STEM VISA HOLDER- Visas allocated under section 203(b)(2) shall be made available first to aliens who graduate from a United States research institution with a doctorate or master’s degree in a STEM field and who intend to work in a related field. Visas made available under this clause shall not be counted for purposes of computing any percentage of the worldwide level under this subsection.’.

So if you don't go for the doctorate or master's for the certain fields they want, that's it. It specifically says doctorate or master's. So basically kids like me who need the legalization in order to get finances to go to the universities are screwed. Maybe not, but that's what it's starting to sound like.

He won't need to because DA is more likely to pass before fall semesters.

I doubt anything will get down before November. If anything, an EO is more likely to happen during Obama's second term.

I would hope that Obama signs an EO by Christmas, but I know that's just wishful thinking....I'll still cross my fingers and hope for the best.

I think Rubio's upcoming DA will pass based on the type of proposal and how it has a bi-partisan support. If it does not pass then I think Durbin's bill will come up after elections and if they fails then I think Obama will do the EO.

You should read the Rivera's bill for any hints of the Rubio's bill. It seems flawed and rushy to me.
