A company can do whatever they wish, but is it within legal parameters ? That question can only be answered by lawyers and litigation. |
Re: Employment check + daca status
Update:
Today I got a call from HR, they are still working on this, I advised them I'll be sending letters in the mail to Equifax, Experian, Transunion. Furthermore, I think they are looking for ways for this to work, she did not give a verdict on all this. Also, I got a call back from Wells Fargo that they were successful in updating my credit card with the new SSN #, so overall hope all of this helps HR feel a bit more comfortable. Also, I called Social Security to ask for a "review" they re-verified my information, as for double-conforming my EAD with USCIS that looks to be a bit more complicated, they say you need an 1-9 on file to re-check, which I don't at the moment, but I figure that my perspective employer may run into the same if they try to verify without an I-9 on record. |

Did you sign up with the selective service ? That helps too because as it turns out not even the U.S government knows you exist yet. When I sent in my letter for the service they told me there was an error because my SSN didn't exist. I had to fill out another paper and then it was updated. Hope that helps out. Good luck.

Re: Employment check + daca status
Thanks All, thought to share that Human Resources gave me the green light today. I am relieved that everything worked out, yes, there was some stressful time in just not knowing whether they would allow me to come on board or not, but I got an e-mail today saying I meet all pre-employment requirements. I am still working on updating the credit bureaus' but glad the employment background check is behind me.
