Honestly this new DACA scenario just made everything that much more confusing...hard to predict what can happen next.

But once we see what happens with the budget deal then we may better know our fate.

I think overall, if we do not get a Dreamer fix pushed into a budget deal...then it could be disastrous for Dreamers...because then what if DOJ appeals the judge decision and DACA is shut down again...then it goes to the Supreme court...then it is shot down 5/4...then it is 100% constitutional to shut down DACA for good...and then trying to get us relief becomes even more complicated...because whats stopping the Repubs from then saying that DACA and providing relief to Dreamers is unconstitutional, and therefore scaring away Dems from even attempting to get a Dreamer bill passed.

This whole situation is fucked...

Or they'll use it to say since DACA is still going, there's no need to attach it to the spending bill. Dems then vote for the spending bill, next day an appeal is launched and DACA is ended again. The GOP is unethical. They'll jack off to our sob stories.

Trump struck it down under the guise of being forced by the lawsuit...
Now he has not alibi so I wonder if he’ll go after the program

I've been wondering what the DOJ is thinking. If they were going to immediately appeal the injunction couldn't they have told USCIS to delay allowing renewals by a few days while they do that? Wouldn't that cause less chaos then starting renewals to only stop them after a few days (if DOJ is successful)?

The AG's of those states that forced Trump to end DACA the first time, they'll sue again, there is no good ending to this story unless something happens next week.

Interesting point...is it possible that the judge threw the DOJ for a loop? Or does the DOJ always know instantly what judges around the country plan to do? I would figure its on the books before the public finds out...so it is indeed curious why the DOJ would just let this happen without a reaction...

Yep.

I was thinking the same.

Those AGs will sue again for sure.

We arw back where we started.

And then I think that is where DACA goes on a deathbed limbo where the program is shutdown until a decision is reached ultimately from the Supreme Court (if it goes that far)...and then most likely a 5/4 decision against DACA effectively ending our futures in the USA.

Even after that nightmare scenario, there could still be a sympathetic outcry from the nation, that may get a Dreamer fix pushed through Congress...I guess the biggest benefit out of this possible future is that we will finally find out where we stand in this country and figure out what we are doing with our lives moving forward.

Exactly. This is what I've been saying since this whole ruling thing came out.
