Agreed. Both sides drop things that need to be addressed in CIR and pass Dream Act/border security. They are legitimately making things more complex than it should be for the same of politics and everyone ends up looking more incompetent.

Agree. DA + Border Security. I think appropriate border security will prevent a future DACA/Dreamer population problem. Family based, DV, point system, etc all fall outside of the realm of Dreamers. This solves a current problem, and helps to prevent a future one.

We are just negotiating among ourselves... Moderate Republicans broadly agree with us. The problem is a small fraction of hardliner, both left and right, but we don't have leaders who can stand up and forge a deal.

President Trump has rejected three separate offers to fund his broadly unpopular wall in exchange for the broadly popular Dream Act.

Yes. I think it's foolish for them to try and address this now.

I'll say this: If you were gaming out how strongly opposed House Democrats are to a caps deal that does nothing toward DACA, the only Dem I've talked to who was fiercely opposed was Luis Gutierrez.

Joe Crowley, Ro Khanna, John Lewis, John Larson, Mark Takano — all noncommittal.

@MEPFuller

House Dems about to throw us also under the bus?

They want DACA in the spending bill... how are they throwing us under the bus?

They said they do but they are negotiating a two year spending bill with Republicans without DACA. Only thing that is live now is a "promise to debate" next week in the Senate.
