Re: Senate Live stream
Bob Corker is a "no" on the bipartisan immigration compromise, his office says. (He supported the big immigration compromise that passed the Senate in 2013, so not a good sign.)

Re: Senate Live stream
Just spoke with a senior administration official who denounced the bipartisan Senate "common sense caucus" immigration bill. Said WH already in touch with individual Senators and House leadership to oppose "giant amnesty." Said WH will do "everything in our power" to sink it.

The guy talks like he wants something done on immigration (every time, without fail), but when the issue comes up, he's all about the NOs. |

Chad Pergram
Chad Pergram @ChadPergram Pelosi says Ryan “doesn’t understand the fear” of the DACA recipients. “What are they waiting on?...What are you afraid of?” Stfu Pelosi. You guys had an opportunity to secure protections for us , but you squandered that. I’m tired of the lip service. |

Re: Senate Live stream
It is not going to get through. Not to be pessimistic, but we should be realistic.
Grassley's bill does not get any support from the Democartic caucus to get to 60. Collin's bill could be the solution, but it is being undermined by the administration. https://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/tru...st-best-chance It is disappointing to see how the conversation shifted from "stopping and preventing illegal immigration" to "reducing legal immigration". You can not trade 1 thing for 3 things. At first, he wanted his wall for Dreamers' legalization. The Collins bill does just that. Now he wants more and more... That is not negotiating in "good faith". And the Democrats know that and they won't go for it. Heck.. Even moderate Republicans won't support it. Sorry for bursing the bubble... Nothing is happening today... |
