Sure, some never learn English and then you hear stories of those that became Doctors, Engineers, etc.

Also having family in a foreign country can help you assimilate faster.

It really depends more on age than method of entry. Someone who enters at 1 will assimilate quite more than someone who entered at 30.

Besides this isn't some problem limited to the Family-PR subset of immigrants. Show of hands, how many of your parents can barely speak English.

You fell hook line and sinker for the Republican anti-immigration propaganda. This is like when the rich pin the middle class against the poor so the middle class don't come after them.

How is chain migration fair? It's fair because it brings families together. If someone comes to the US and makes it, why isn't it fair that they should have a chance to bring their family here? Why should they have to choose between their life here and being with family?

If you want to be pissed, be pissed at the Republicans for making this a choice. It shouldn't be a choice between giving legal status to dreamers vs. tearing families apart.

chain migration/family reunification whatever you want to call it, is abused in the way of people outside of one family, I.E.: a mother and father, and siblings, being gifted a green card for no real reason.
you are willingly ignorant if you think that a cousin or distant relative of someone who "made it" in america deserves legal status more than people under DACA that are already assimilated and "american" in every sense of the word.

as a matter of fact, you're on board with the_donald idiots that think these people deserve to be here more than DACA people.

So you are saying that we “illegal” DACA recepients deserve more rights than America Citizens? Because that’s basically what you are implying. The fact is that ending family reunification would mean that 300+ million current and all future American citizens would lose their rights in exchange for 1.8 million DREAMERS.
Don’t be that naive, this isn’t a us versus them, it’s the Republican Party trying to screw all future immigrant and their families, which by the way would include our own.

You still don’t seem to understand the concept family reunification.. Tell me, in what world is a parent or a brother or sister of an America citizen considered a “distant distant family member”?

American citizen WOULD absolutely lose their rights if they are no longer able to legally sponsor their close family members.
