I figured, that would be idiotic from them to do. I expire August 5th. Going to send my renewal soon and hopefully get it by early march.

They dont. They only look at your application once you are at the 150 day mark. The only possible benefit that you might get from submitting earlier than that is that if lets say...DACA gets cancelled, there is a tiny chance they might still process those who are in the system or you might just get a refund.

I've been waiting for a few months - I submitted like 14 months before my expiration date.

Last time I submitted way way ahead of time and I got approved in 3 months.

Yep, I was one of them. My timeline will show that too.

They definitely waited for the 150 day mark before approving mine, not sure how others are getting ahead of line. It seems random at times.
