What piece?

More than 700 children who crossed from Mexico into the United States without their parents were held in Border Patrol custody as of last week.
A crisis at the border could make it even harder for Congress to pass substantial immigration reform
minors crossing the border alone

Good signs.

Once passed by the House, it's the Senate where the real action will take place.

10 GOP Senators

10!

For the people who say “nothing will happen like always,” are you this negative and bitter in every aspect of your everyday lives? I know the road isn’t easy, but you never know. Things can change. The past isn’t always a predictor of the future. You guys can’t think like this.

Funny how they always say "nothing will happen" but keep showing up here for something to happen

This may very well be the best and only chance within the next couple years where we can finally get relief. I am really hopeful and will keep tuning in. Just wish there was something I could do to contribute to the cause.

Wish this forum was as active as when 2010 DA time.We had tons of activism going in here (oldies prob will remember the constant calling in and faxing to the senators, senator profiles, etc). Good times.

Blind optimism is a fool's trait.

I am optimistic when there is a sound reason to be. Simply having "good vibes" and "good expectations" doesn't change shit. Especially when it comes to something like immigration reform.

Show me concrete indicators that justify we should have faith in congress this time around and then I'll have some optimism. In the meantime, I'll continue to be the scarred cynic I am.

10 or more Republican senators are needed. You all have faith in that?

If we get permanent sensible relief, I promise I will buy all of you a beer and chicken enchiladas. All of you except 2Face and the other 2 MAGA trolls on here.
