A consistent message I've gotten from undocu-sources today is that grassroots, membership-based immigrant rights orgs are more accountable to immigrants than, say, corporate or philanthropically funded grasstops orgs that some say negotiated BBB "about us without us" in Congress.

Undocupals face huge hurdles in any policy fight in Washington.

They cannot serve as Hill aides or even visit the White House in some cases.
