Any one who's well educated on both bills and on the Country's immigration standing will be able to tell you the same. It's not about being selfish, it's about being realistic. I too have parents here undocumented, and they tell me everyday that if DREAM were to pass that it would be a HUGE weight off of their shoulders, more than half of our parents here I'm sure are not even worried about themselves, They worry about legalizing themselves only to be able to pass that on to their children. After all, wasn't that what they came here for? to better YOUR situation? So when your situation is settled you can do everything in your power since your in a better position, to pay them back for bringing you to the land of opportunity by any means necessary?

At the end of the day EVERYONE wants to be documented here, Parents and children alike, and in a perfect world that would happen and that would be great. But we don't live in a perfect world, so we have to take what we can get and haul ass.

couldn't have said it better.

it's not about blaming our parents for anything but it's about them wanting more for us. I remember my father told me before we left that the biggest reason we were coming here was so I could have a bigger and brighter future so i too believe that if I was to get legalized it would be just as good for them as if they were to get legalized.

In my opinion most parents will arrive at the resonable conclusion that they prefer their children to have a chance at a better life than they have.

I think Ibrahim makes a good point. A lot of the people who are active in these organizations are U.S. citizens with a family member such as a spouse who is undocumented. They might be offended if we ask them to only push for DREAM next year. Think about the family with 3 kids where the dad or mom is undocumented and how they live in fear of being torn apart. If we come to them and ask to push for DREAM by itself, we might do more harm than good.

What they're doing right now helps us. Congress knows they can't deliver CIR right now but they may pass DREAM as a conciliatory measure to buy time. Let's remember this and if DREAM passes, we have to return the favor by working our asses off to pass CIR.
