I would say their was minor problems with it but not the way you’re portraying it to be. I personally would agree so with those who in the past qualified even though they had a DUI. I don’t think anyone that has had a DUI should qualify for DACA. Yes we all make mistakes, but these people have the mentality of “screw it” I’ll do it again and then end up killing someone innocent during the process.

However, what I was referring to was about someone that has a clean criminal record and has shown to live in a life in good faith and then somewhere a long the way they commit a crime, you can’t blame the vetting process for that.

I would disagree that the wall will stop illegal immigration. According to a recent study visa overstays outnumbered illegal border crossings and those numbers are expected to continue to rise. How is a wall going to stop that?

Quote:

The majority of immigrants settling in the U.S. without authorization are first coming to the country legally, raising questions about the effectiveness of President Donald Trump's plan to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border.

Crossing the border is not the way "the large majority of persons now become undocumented," the Center for Migration Studies (CMS) said in a recent report. Two-thirds of those who joined the undocumented population did so by entering with a valid visa and then overstaying their period of admission, the center reported.

how am i portraying it?
i've been saying there was problems with it, and there was.
how will a border wall deter illegal border crossings? are you seriously asking that?

So you’re just going to ignore the fact that I just showed you proof about why your wall won’t work? Ok lol! Keep believing that this so call wall will stop illegal immigration even though visa overstays are outnumbering illegal crossings.

I hope you also do understand that these people also have underground tunnels as well, and even if they built this so call wall, not every part of the border is going to have it. But yeah let’s ignore the facts.

why are you being dense?
you have my two posts for reference in your's and you're still being obtuse.
i specifically said a wall would HELP stop illegal immigration.
you then asked me how a border WALL will help stop illegal border crossings.
like, you actually, don't understand how a border WALL would help deter illegal crossings.
are you ignoring reality???

Are you this dumb? Lol how does a wall stop people from crossing underground tunnels? Or crossing through areas were their will be no wall. Putting more border security resources on the border such as manpower and technology will have a lot better results than a wall. I live in a border town, I can tell you that even if there is a wall they will still find a way.

I also gave you reference on how most undocumented are from visas overstays yet you decide to ignore that and you still havent answered how a wall is going to stop visas overstays, a number in which is outgrowing the illegal population crossing around the border.

You’re willing to spend billions of dollars just for what? To help stop a couple hundreds crossing the border? Why not actually spend that money on other resources that can actually make a difference. Most coyotes are making crossing the border a thing of the past now. They have other ways to do so these days and a wall isn’t going to stop them.

this is what you're doing, you're bringing up points unrelated to what i was originally saying. this is peak dishonesty.

me: a border wall would help stop illegal crossings
you: but what about the visa overstays?
me:i wasn't talking about visa overstays
you:but they can build tunnels!
me:a wall would still help
you:but visa overstays, what would a wall do to them!
me: i wasn't saying a border wall would help against visa overstays, i clearly said, multiple times, that it would help deter illegal crossings
you: ahhhh, why aren't you arguing the points im bringing up that are completely unrelated to what you were originally saying! you must be dumb!!

my claim was that a border wall will help deter border crossings, you haven't bothered to challenge that claim, likely because you can't and it would help. so i'm going to assume you're just looking for something to argue about by bringing things up unrelated to my original point.

oh and also, the argument of wasting money goes completely out the window cause this country wastes trillions of dollars in the name of old men who can only get hard by being in a perpetual state of war.

The problem is that you’re ignoring the overall issue. You’re willing to spend BILlIONS of dollars for a BANDAID, because that’s all that is, it is a BANDAID that might stop the bleeding just a little but it will NOT solve the overall issue. And although you may not have a problem with it, I’m sure American taxpayers do, and his promise was for MEXICO to pay for it, not us!

You do realize that there is more than just Trump’s base in America right?

You do realize he promised his voters that MEXICO would pay for it, not the American taxpayers right?

You do realize that American taxpayers are against paying for this wall right?

You do realize that he has the worst polling of any president in office right?

You do realize that right now his party is losing races he won big back in 2016? (with the Missouri state House race being the latest).

You also do realize that most people in Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin voted for him for economic reasons right and not a wall right?

You also do realize that if Presidential elections were based on popularity he would have lost by 3 million votes right? So NO, not every American voted for him.

But yeah let’s ignore the fact and say he won because of a wall. BTW if you think 2020 is going to be a cake walk for him, you’re in for a rude awakening.

No it doesn't. The only people who make a big deal about these 'daca criminals' are the anti-immigrants groups/fox news who have absolutely no sympathy for us and never will. Most people understand that you don't punish a group for the actions of a few. Also if someone has never committed a crime, applies for DACA, and then commits a crime - how exactly was USCIS supposed to guess they were going to commit a crime in the future?

even if there is a question on our DACA app that says "do u plan to commit a crime in the future?" do you really think anyone would put Yes? lol

idk how much extreme vetting can we get tbh?

imo, if they wanted stricter requirements, they should make DACA have a bachelors degree or higher as an entry point. lol but more than half of the mfers here wouldnt qualify.

they are capable of sympathy. the world isn't designed in one set way, this is just plain untrue. did you not even see that dreamer on fox news or what? he literally turned countless fox viewers and followers onto our side in one fell swoop.

I answered plenty of times on why I think your idea of a billion dollar BANDAID of a wall didn’t make sense. It’s not my fault you’re having a hard time understanding that. And it is related to your point because you’re pushing for a BILION dollar wall that will make very little impact whatsoever. You also said Americans voted for Trump because of wall, which is not true because not every American voted for Trump and those who voted for him did so because of his economic plans. So yes I am waiting for your answers.

So you’re willing to pay for a billion dollar bandaid? Who pays for the wall? What about those who are overstaying their visas and are outnumbering those who cross the border illegally how is this billion dollar wall going to help there?

Border crossings are at an ALL TIME low because of ENFORCEMENT not a wall so why not add more manpower and technology instead? Why spend billions of dollars for something that “MIGHT HELP”. What’s you’re solution to underground’s tunnes and how will the wall help prevent stuff like this?

2.you're the one who brought up visa overstays.
Yes I did because you’re overlooking this issue and willing to throw BILLIONS of dollars at wall, why not instead focus on this which is obviously the bigger issue.

It means fewer people are crossing the border because of enforcements, harsh penalties and because it’s expensive. Again why the need of a billion dollar bandaid? As the article below states..

Arrests of people trying to cross illegally into the U.S. from Mexico plunged to the lowest level since 1971, as fewer people attempted the trek, the Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday.

https://www.npr.org/2017/12/05/56854...it-46-year-low

This was published in December of 2017. So why the need of a wall again?

im not overlooking anything, the actual issue that you yourself are overlooking, is visa overstays AND illegal crossings, what you're basically arguing for is that instead of building a wall, we should deport visa overstays, because that's the actual problem, right? you're deflecting again.
more enforcement= ultimately more people in detention camps.
if it comes down to it, i'd take a wall over more border patrol agents with delusions of grandeur.

Do you listen to yourself speak? “Let’s throw BILLIONS of dollars at a wall just because it might help and oh yeah during the process let Americans pay for it” who are you to speak for them when almost every constant polling shows they are against for paying for a wall.

Right now they aren’t even arresting people as in the past because they are no longer attempting to cross!!

Quote:

Arrests of people trying to cross illegally into the U.S. from Mexico plunged to the lowest level since 1971, as fewer people attempted the trek, the Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday.

The dramatic shift in arrests of undocumented immigrants from the Southwest border to the interior of the nation continues to be a prominent feature of the Trump presidency.

New data released by DHS show that Border Patrol arrests are at a 46-year low.

i've reiterated to you my point countless times, but apparently not only can you basically not read, but you're purposefully ignoring what i've been saying all along, for the sake of arguing points that i not only never brought up, but that you've tried and failed, to force onto me.

Talking you’re way out of things are not facts. If you’re going to sit there and say a wall is going to help our borders, then make sure you come up with a legit argument on why Americans should be spending billions of dollars on paying for it. Give us an explanation on why you would think spending billions of dollars is worthy of it, and not just you’re opinions, but facts and that’s something that you have failed to do so.

I gave you references on why I was against that idea and all you gave me was you’re opinion and opinions doesn’t make it a fact!

why would i have to come up with an argument simply cause i said a wall would help?
are you so dishonest that you can't see the wrong in what you've been doing for this whole thread?
seriously, gain some IQ points if you can't see how wrong you are this whole thread; where i've told you "no i didn't say that, this is what i said" and ignoring that so you can off onto random tangents unrelated to my original point.

And then you started backing off of it when the facts and numbers were not on your side. Next time then just don’t question something if don’t have an argument for or if you don’t like to hear the facts. You asked and I gave you facts and numbers.

so not only are you dishonest, but you can't detect sarcasm.
i never though i'd have to prove to someone how a border wall would help deter illegal crossings, but holy fuck here i am.
i had more faith that you guys were smarter than this.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/opini...umn/586853001/

"Our Border Patrol agents have seen firsthand the success of a border wall in Yuma, Ariz. — which serves as a prime example of how investments in personnel, technology and a border wall can turn the tide against a flood of illegal immigration and secure our homeland."

"The bipartisan Secure Fence Act of 2006 — supported by then-Sens. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden and others — mandated the construction of hundreds of additional miles of secure fencing and infrastructure investments. Yuma sector was one of the first areas to receive infrastructure investments.

We built new infrastructure along the border east and west of the San Luis Arizona Port of Entry in 2006. The existing fence was quickly lengthened, and we added second and third layers to that fencing in urban areas. Lighting, roads and increased surveillance were added to aid agents patrolling the border."

"Although there is still work to do, the border in Yuma sector today is more secure because of this investment. Even under lax enforcement standards, apprehensions in fiscal year 2016 were roughly a 10th of what they were in FY 2005 — and are on track to be even lower this year. Crime has significantly decreased in the Yuma area, and smugglers now look for other less difficult areas of the border to cross — often areas without fencing."

You do realize the difference between a fence and a wall right? And Are we also ignoring the fact that this is an August article and the one I showed you of border arrests going down is from December? And like I said since now that you’re finally admitting to say that is a wall you’re looking for, then how is you’re plan to get Americans on board to pay for it?

where did i admit that I'M looking for a wall?
i said it helps, how are you so lacking in basic thinking skills that you can't understand the difference between saying something helps, and actively pushing for it.
my post was proof that it DOES help, and now you keep arguing instead of admitting you're wrong and were being dishonest this whole thread.
i can't EVEN with some of you.

You’re being delusional to think a wall is the same as a fence. What Yuma has is a fence not a wall. That’s a clever way of twisting it though. You’re also ignoring the fact that there is more to the border than just Yuma Arizona and the overall border arrests has gone down from every area not just Yuma.
