Re: Spotlight on House After Senate Failure to Pass DACA Fix
I'm just going to go ahead and say I'm really tired of all this shit, and no wonder Americans have congress on like a 13% approval, they can't do fucking shit.
Can't even ban fucking AR-15s... We need all these baby boomers to fkin bite the dust man, so we can progress as a country.. getting really tired of the way the US is going back in time. Wish Marcus Aurelius would be our leader. |
Re: Spotlight on House After Senate Failure to Pass DACA Fix

Also when I think Marcus had all that power and still practiced Stoicism, it's so encouraging when I'm struggling. I remember you being another one who liked Stoicism, what do you do to put it in practice? Sorry for derailing, feel free to PM me, all the DACA news are rlly depressing as fuck. lol |

also, remember that all of this uncertainty is only making us stronger as a person. majority of people (americans) cant begin to imagine being in our shoes. no need to worry about things you dont have control over. |

I am so glad so many members of this forum follow Stoicism, who would've known? My American friends don't know shit about life, most of my co-workers only live in a day-to-day what can I buy today that I don't have but don't need. We will surely get out the better people out of this situation, it does bother me that humanity keeps getting leaders that haven't had to work for their fucking food their whole life.. Anyway, those who are asking themselves why am I talking about this, is because I thought it will be useful for some of you. Have a great day 8) |
Re: Spotlight on House After Senate Failure to Pass DACA Fix
yep.. to SurfyB's point, Beyonder is right. We really have no control over what happens. that's why i dont really support or endorse any plan for us. at the end of the day, i will sign up for any relief we get.
at this point in my life i realized that America is not the only place in the world for me and there is a much bigger world out there. don't get me wrong, America has given me my career & education, in no other country will my story be possible as an illegal. and as an optimist, i will always try to find the silver lining in any situation no matter how bad it is. the mentality of "eh, it wasnt so bad." theres gonna be another window of opportunity. in a sense, thats why i am discouraged by the people here who go on a complete meltdown... its not the end of the world if it doesnt work out here, Dreamers have so much potential. they can succeed anywhere in the world. at the end of the day, im sure we will all be okay. (my only worry is for the younger dreamers, who never lived and experienced what it was like to live as an illegal w/o DACA.) Quote:

No, I don’t advocate giving up. On the contrary, this is the time when DREAMERS need to make sure the spotlight on this issues doesn’t go away. I still have and will continue to have a vested interest in the DACA issue as I also have a sibling that will is still working on AoS and is reliant on the current DACA permit. At this point I think one of two things will happen. 1. Inaction - Everyone will still renew and so most DACA should be protected for the next two years. Hopefully a solution will emerge by then. 2. A 3 year extension - congress passed a patch and punts the issue till 2020 Unfortunately I am tired of waiting and am unwilling to accept either of those outcomes. I refuse to live with such uncertainty for another 2-3 years. For that reason I will take the skills, education, and job that I’ve worked so hard acquired during my time in this country and start a new life back in PV. |

This site is for members to share information and experiences that affect the young undocumented community. I will continue to inform and express my opinions for as long as I see fit. Those opinions may not always be popular or correlated with your own, no need to be hostile because of it.. What’s funny is that I bet you’ve never even donated to the site in the first place, yet you feel the need to make personal attack against anyone that doesn’t agree with your PERSONAL beliefs.. That is not how the world works and that is not how DACA individuals should conduct themselves. But thank you for making some of our members look like children that need their “safe space” when they don’t get their way. |
Re: Spotlight on House After Senate Failure to Pass DACA Fix
I understand why some of you feel hopeless, but that is not going to help. I encourage you to fight in some way (hell, go to DC if you can and bitch out the Democrats for being spineless). Let shit unfold and hope for the best.

If you feel like you can add something constructive to the discussion, please do so. Unless, you are just shut off your mind and think that Congress is the only option. All we are saying here is that that you can find other ways to fix your personal situation without just relying on Congress. I think this the most realistic way to deal with this. This Congress is not going to fix this issue permanently, especially with the recent court decisions. They have shown that they are incapable of doing anything meaningful without a deadline or sense of urgency. |
Re: Spotlight on House After Senate Failure to Pass DACA Fix
Personally I believe that if a legislation solution passes and you’re OK with that, then definitely go ahead and apply. But if you’re not, then DON’T apply and move on to you’re next plan. But this is the real world and we can’t always get what we want and right now we are not in the position to demand.
Just because people may disagree with a proposal does not mean others should miss out on an opportunity to change their lives for the better and no that is not called being selfish, it’s called life. |

How would you miss out on an opportunity? What if that opportunity was worse than the alternative? |

Who’s telling you to stay shut? Not once did I ever said other dreamers opinions don’t matter, I simply said if you don’t agree with a passage of a proposal then don’t take it, geez is it really that hard? No one is putting a gun in you’re head into accepting something you don’t like or want, and if the opportunity is worse then alternative, again, don’t take it, you said it yourself, “we have no say in the matter”. It’s an unfortunate situation but that’s the reality of it. However some Dreamers are willing to take anything at this point because they are afraid of losing everything they have work for and the uncertainty that they have surrounding their lives it’s exhausting for them. And if a proposal passes that I don’t like, well guess what? I won’t apply. But I won’t stop other Dreamers from moving ahead. It’s that simple! It’s called life man, and you can’t always get what you want! |
