Well i can tell you that it is enough people to win a close presidential race. An example of that would be obama vs Romney.

How can people under atrack, in detention, or on the brink of deportation wait for the next election?

No one is claiming the government 'owes' undocumented immigrants.

All the legalization proposals come with conditions and responsibilities. We can earn legalization when we meet them. Undocumented immigrants are asking for the opportunity that you have. And by your reasoning, all who got amnesty in 1986 should just support Republicans, right? Since a Republican president gave them the opportunity.

I can't speak for others, but I am already grateful for my EAD. However, I am disappointed in and angry in silent at the Democratic Party. They shouldn't let the government open in October at all. They found polling result against them after the government was shutdown, and they were scared to lose moderate supports in mid-election. So their tactic now is to stall the debate until 2019, hoping they will gain more seats.

It is true the Democrats will win back a good number of seats in the House and perhaps one or two in the Senate, but they disappointed us by now playing the wrong card. House will continue to be a Republican majority, and Senate too. So their best hope is to wait until 2020 honestly to get President Trump out of office. There is very little chance to get a real legal path for dreamers even in 2019. What is likely to happen is Flake's proposal gets extended again like freakin spending bill. We are going to have an immigration continuous resolution CR bitches.

They need to stop appearing like a nice teamplayer on TV all the damn time.

They didn’t give us jack, it was paid for by latino votes. They backed Obama into a corner before the 2012 elections. He did it because he didn’t have any other choice. Remember, candidate Obama said Dreamers would be dealt with in the first 100 days. He lied.

Trump said he'd rescinded DACA in 100 days. He lied too.

People in power, smh.

We had 2 republicans that voted yes for the dream act, but you could not get 58 democrats to vote yes for it! 5 democratic senators voted No (Sen. Tester who is still in the Senate is one of them) and one did not even vote (Sen. Manchin who is also still in the Senate). Stop using us for your reelection! Go away!

If Durbin resigns who the fuck going to fight for us?

He did not negotiate or work on it for pretty much all of the last 10 years. Obama pushed the TPS-like Daca because Rubio had a bill ready to go to the floor and Dems would have supported it.

Groups begged Democrats and the White House to pass the Dream Act first, then work on other types of relief. They ignored it.

Schumer lied, Pelosi lied, abd Durbin lies. We all work and are taxpayers. These establishment politicians act on our dime and name.

Just leave and let real progressives do the work that needs to be done.

All of you can at least call to voice your disappointment that Durbin plans to push back the issue.

Democrats have tried more than Republicans have. A Democrat gave us daca after bring pressured by us. I concede all of that. Whatever. But, Congressional Democrats have never invested enough muscle one the issue of immigration. That is my whole issue with them. My dislike isnt against liberals in general. I guess I just hate spineless liberals who claim to have our back but actually dont.

Its a fact they dont put enough muscle behind their efforts to help us and use us for election.

Trump will still be president after the midterms. I am quite certain he will not back down.

Stop drinking the kool aid. He is a total failure when it comes to the dream act. He should be ashamed of himself for not being able to accomplish it for the past 17 years! He was the majority whip back in 2010 and he could not even get all of his senators vote for the dream act.... And now after the fiasco of the last year... more like last years... he thinks that he has the right to talk about us. And he thinks that he has the right to use us for his campaign.... I do not think so buddy... Total shame on him!

Durbin reminds me of the classmate who claims to be your best friend. Buys you gifts here and there. Tells people you are a great guy. He also asks you to help him on midterm and final exams. You do that for several semesters. But, one day he does not stand up for you as you are being bullied by several assholes at school. He does not view you worth the trouble. But, he still hopes you can help him with his exams. It is so evident what he is doing, and it's pathetic.

It's cool, Dems gave us DACA and Repubs are working hard to take that away from us. The Dems might be the weakest but they're not 'actively' deporting us.

Seems logical.

Actually. One Dem gave us DACA. The congressional ones are bitches. They are a different story.

Yep, what's the point of the House going to the Dems when it's going to become a constant tug of war between them and the White House?

Well at least they will have the power to put things on the floor. But then they will stay in their partisan corners like always and not compromise.

The last hope is the temporary extension floated by Sen. Flake. Last chance until the elections at least

Senator Durbin states he has no plan, no strategy, no other legislation, and does not know what to do.

We should hear publicly from Senator Schumer and Nancy Pelosi as well about their non-plan to help Dreamers. They have conveniently disappeared on this issue.

Also, McConnell did not 'feel compelled' to hold debate for the Dream Act; it was the result of a deal with Schumer to avoid a shutdown but without the gurantee of enough votes to pass Dreamer relief.
