Exactly my point Smooth!

Why are you so mad the dems gave trump the money to use to do what Republicans have been doing for decades?

Ryan wants to run for President. I doubt his worries is to pass an “amnesty” bill that will come back and haunt him and his party. This whole thing is one big farse and quite frankly I am not falling for that. Whatever bill they bring up to the floor will be a bill destined to fail and purposely done so!

That's exactly my point Pianos. If Dems are such staunch flawless advocates of the immigrant community, why would they fund activities of most (not all) Republicans who have been trying to come after us for years?

Doesn’t matter if he wins or lose. This is all about protecting his Republican base. I doubt he will want to be the next Marco Rubio of the Republican Party.

Everyone needs to CHILL DOWN! LOL

We dont know what the compromise bill looks like. Plus, wont it be awesome to be put out of guess and anxiety for once and for all next week? Win or lose, Im tired of this rollercoaster.

I do am grateful for those Reps that, whether for their own political benefit or not, pushed for these negotiations.

The discharge petition was always going to be the moderates' bargaining chip.

Otherwise Ryan and Co. would still be dragging their feet.

See ya next week for another episode of Survivor, Dreamer edition hahaha

Ok keyboard warrior? I am shaking in my boots.

Moderates didn't do anything but put on a act. Nothing good going to come out of this. They are going to ram a ultra conservative piece of shit through the house like they did for the past 2 years. Then it will fall short in the Senate.

He didn't get voted off. I talk to him everyday. He's an asset to the DAP community. Did you see how much love he's getting? I'd vote myself off in his place.

DanielPL is still alive and thriving. I crossed paths with him in Chicago last week.

Despite the failure to secure 218 signatures for the immigration discharge petition in the Hse tonight, the option remains live for the next eligible date to consider such an effort on July 23. That could happen if the accord collapses & they secure 2 additional signatures

Cool, thanks for the response. Looks like there is still an opportunity to revisit this option. We know the Goodlatte bill will go nowhere, so our only thing to look forward to are the details of the unknown bill.

We shall see..

Let's see all the Republican cheerleaders posting here, let Ryan prove me wrong this week.

My gut feeling is that Goodlatte shit bill and something similar will get voted for giggles and nothing will get done. Let's see if you keep your cheerleader outfit after next week! would love for Repubs to prove me wrong.

Hey,

If both bills are fucked up, then they are fucked up.

But, I am not really going to minimize Curbelo's efforts. He helped trigger the upcoming votes.

Agreed! It’s just a show to try and help Republicans in Latino heavy districts who are up for re-election.

Smooth, 2Face, Versallie, take a good look here. The group you so readily defend couldn't be gather enough signatures of their own petition that democrats had to come and filled them up. You are in the wrong side and the blue wave is going to wash you 3 away.

you can't even read dude, don't mention me in your posts just to lie and go out of your way to make me look like something i'm not.

i stopped giving a shit about the petition when i realized it was only going to be good for driving moderate repubs and further right conservatives to a compromise.
if you want to be so blind and partisan, that's your problem. don't paint people in a certain light just cause they've repeatedly addressed the problems of both parties. but yeah, smooth is definitely a registered republican and he'll definitely care about being positive towards them past the small point of being positive that they're atleast working on bills that can turn into law of the land.

If both bills are fucked up there are 2 other bills that have been on the table for years, that are a great solution to a lingering problem which Repubs have obstructed and fuck with for decades.

Cubelo's effort now is appreciated, but this is a last minute effort because he feels the pressure in his district, otherwise he would have continue as an Uncle Tom latino.

I can see how you appreciate his effort, but its mesmerizing how idiotic you sound trying to defend Repubs by throwing under Dems under the bus. You're entitle to your opinion, even if it makes no fucken sense.

these "great solutions" will not pass the senate, will not pass the house, and will not pass trump's desk.
that you resort to calling someone an uncle tom just proves you don't have much of anything useful to say.

I'm expressing my opinion as you're entitle to yours

Where was Cubelo the past 5 years? sucking up on the Repurbs, his effort now is appreciated, but if I had to choose between a Democrat that has put an effort behind the Latino community for decades, or Cubelo... that is an easy decision to make.

I do hope we get a solution, and I do appreciate what Cubelo is doing now, but to say Dems have not been the strongest political allies of the Dreamers is pure BS

I defend some Republicans like Curbelo--not all of them. Minimizing what Curbelo has done and giving Democrats all the credit is stupid. Failing to realize that Dems' government shutdown was just a stunt is stupid. Not acknowledging that they gave Trump $1.6 billion on border security without anything on DACA on the last budget showdown is retarded. I see the flaws on both sides. But, to you, the Dems are perfect.

Stupid ass opinion.

Where were the Dems when they controlled both chambers in 2008? See my signature because they are bitches, and they are too afraid to really fight for you. They want everything to be easy on immigration to get shit done. They aren't willing to pull of wild legislative stunts for you. We have DACA because our community pressured Obama to do so given the fact that he was deporting people. Sure, congressional Democrats have introduced bills and give speeches, but when they have to do some heavy lifting for you, they will not do it. They just back off and say, "oops, Republicans won't let us. Elect more Dems!!!!"

To many Democrats, you are only American, and they are only your allies when it comes to the elections.

When it comes to legislative standoffs (e.g. the budget deals), many Democrats (not all) bust a train on your ass, and you keep coming back for more.
