This person thought being a student visa overstay/ F1 overstay was not a horrendous thing. Even though as a student visa you are conscious/older than the average 3yr old DACAer who came in illegally. He is being dismissive of those who received their orders when they were still kids. Most people I know who received their orders were kids, from age 2-10. These people are now pillars of the community and I don't want to see them pay for the sins of their parents.

Ryan has said for wks he opposed the immigration discharge petition because it didn't have a chance of becoming law. But in presser, he concedes the 2 immigration bills on the flr today may not become law because they might not pass or the Senate

He probably doesn’t even qualify based on what others keep saying about his past. The current admistration isn’t fucking around with records if this bill passes. I kind of hope it does just so that people like this asshole get left out.

Alright. We’re voting on the Goodlatte immigration bill now. No one quite knows what this vote looks like, but the over/under in the gallery seems to be around 165.

Seems like a good line to me, though I’d probably take the over.

The House just voted on goodlatte’s immigration bill.

It failed. 193-231, well short of passage. (Higher than I thought it would get, though)

And the discharge petition — and a good deal of moderates leverage — is officially gone.

Some of the eligibility requirements are so unreasonable . For example, under this bill , the alien is disqualified if the person failed to comply with the prior removal order. A lot of people like me are not even aware of the removal order until you try to adjust your status ( I was brought to US by my mom 18 years ago when I was 13 )

I’m right there with you. I received my final order at age 10 through my parents. How is it reasonable for a 10 year old to know enough to comply with an order that my parents received?

Well I couldn’t have even if I wanted to.
