Just got back from ssa office:
took following:
application
consulate id
birth certificate
passport
EAD
the only ?s i was asked were: If i ever filed of a ssn before, no, or if i have visited the usa before, no. I was asked if i had my passport but i was already taking it out.
He looked at the form, ids, ead (extensively), and at Birth Cert. Put the info on the system and just had trouble reading my city of birth. It went smoothly and i was told that my application wouldn't be processed til Fri as, they have to wait 10 days after the issue of the EAD no way around it. So it will get looked at Fri. then probably processed Mon. He said to check after Mon so the office can give me a print out of the ssn and I will get card in 2-4 weeks. Gave me my receipt, 1800 # to call em before going to the office for print out. Forgot to ask bout the save query as he took my birth cert. with the other papers so that little dilemma made forget :S.
So hopefully tues or wed ill have a print out :D

Wait he TOOK ur BC??!! He kept it or have it back to u? Lol maybe I'm stressing out too much. And so isn't the SAVE query the same as the 10 day wait?

You're so close! I hope that SSN card is in your hands soon.

I'm still far off from this step but I like to be prepared. Do you know if they'll accept an expired passport? Or will I have to get that renewed prior to getting a new SSN? Also, is there a fee for acquiring an SSN card?

well i didn't pay a fee, and yeah i had to ask him to gimme my BC lol its minor dilemma but made me forgot to ask bout the save query. umm i got time next week so either way ill be able to go to dmv tues or wed afte ssa office to pick up the print out
