It would be easier to convince those 3 demos to vote yes then a Rep don't you think?

So we have 57. We also have Gregg and Patterson, so we are 1 short.

i think we should just all chill out, before we start counting how many people are really voting on this IMAGINARY BILL.... because honestly, they have yet to present one... so let's just wait it out.. and give it to GOD and just pray that it comes soon... :D

I said it in the other thread. 56 dems sounds very optimistic regardless of what Reid says.

Also as far as a second Republican is needed to sponsor it, I can see the logic.

Health care is as a consensus position for the Dems as it can get. They also tried to find Republicans to support it but Repubs managed to unite and not allow any defectors while galvanizing their base.

No Dem wants to see a repeat of the health care debate, because everyone is exhausted and the election is so far nearer.

So the need to go to the fight with at least Republicans committed means that it's tough for the Republicans to divide it between partisan lines and you ve got cover against the nativists who are going to come full throttle.

Exhausted? Are you kidding me? They get paid a very good salary to make the laws of the country.

it's already a bipartisan; Graham-Schumer.
Having a second republican would be ideal, but don't let the perfect be the enemy of the necessary. The frame time to introduce the bill is very limited & @ the end we'll only have two parties blaming each other for the status quo.

What made you think that? I'm asking because many articles I've read said the otherwise.
