See the thing with these politicians is, you can never tell if they're taking action for the general welfare of the people or if they're just doing things for the sake of political fodder

Because, at the end of the day Democrats will be able to say "Hey we tried, its those damned republican who wouldnt let us!". This is the same thing Reid says about CIR "Hey I tried hard, but I have no republicans to support me"

When the DREAM Act last came up for a vote, in 2007, it won at least ten GOP votes: Bob Bennett (R-Utah), Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), Norm Coleman (R-Minn), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Larry Craig (R-Idaho), Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.), Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Trent Lott (R-Miss.), Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine). Five of them -- Bennett, Brownback, Collins, Hatch and Snowe - are still serving in the Senate.

Hatch is saying no so we only have Four yeses.
WE NEED TWO MORE TO SAY YES!!

I believe because its the last shot at some type of immigration reform before Congress goes on recess, and after the november elections democrats are looking to lose a lot of seats, maybe even the House, to republicans -most of them tea party members0,

He's going to do whatever he sees fit to save face and still appear as if he has done a lot to fulfill his promise. All we can do is wait till Tuesday and see how it goes.

Uh, that doesn't answer my question. Go back and read it again sweetie. I know it's hard but you can do it. I believe in you.
