^You should check with the school. I know that FAU offers in-state tuition to some out-of-state students, depending on the GPA I think. They also have "scholarships" where students can apply and if chosen as one who meets the criteria, they receive in-state tuition. You'd have to call though to find out the process. I did serious research to see the best way it would work for me.

I contacted both FAU and FIU and they both said that I would have to wait for a year after receiving deferred action/getting a driver license to qualify for in-state tuition to establish residency. Has any of you guys heard any different?

I'm on my phone so can't check from my pc for a while, about how much are 4 classes per semester would it be at fiu or fau? With in state tuition I mean.

This seriously just made my heart sink... I didn't see anything about having to wait a year. I guess I just assumed once you received deferred action you'd be eligible. Now I really have to figure out what I'm going to do if this turns out to be the case.

You have to prove you have lived in FL for 12 months with 2 proofs. You can do that through your ID and apartment lease or car registration etc.

They dont care where you graduated from.

The proof of residency is not just a drivers license, anything you have to proof that you have been here for at least 12 months is good enough. For someone moving into the state, yes, just wait a year and you get in state tuition

I'd be interested to hear from someone who is actually attending with in-state tuition and is in a similar situation. I read over the State statue and guidelines and two pieces of proofs are required. In my opinion, a driver's license and car registration would be the easiest. You may submit utility bills but the other proof I believe has to be a state document. Also, you must reside "legally" for 12 months, deferred action being interpreted as allowed to "legally" stay in the country.
